Taking Proctored Exams

  1. All of your exams will be taken and proctored at the Biggio Center Testing Services.
  2. Exam proctoring is by appointments only. No walk-ins are accepted.
  3. You MUST bring your own laptop computer at the Testing Services in order toaccess the test. The computers at the Testing Services may not be able set up for typing in Russian.
  4. All tests are proctored by certified test administrators in the Testing Services secure testing environment.

  8. Go to SmarterProctoring within the course in Canvas to schedule your tests with Auburn Testing services.
  9. Set up a Virtual Keyboard for your system so that you you can type in Russian by clicking on virtual keys on the screen.
  10. If you are using a Macintosh computer, follow the instructions for setting up Cyrillic/Russian support on Mac OS X.
  11. If you are working with a Windows (7 and above) computer or tablet you will need to set up the Microsoft Tablet PC Input Panel. The Input Panel, also called Virtual Keyboard is an application which enables the user to enter text in more than one language by switching between different keyboard layouts. In Windows 10, tabtip.exe is now called Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel
  12. Before you set up the Input Tablet you will need to install the Russian Homophonic keyboard in Windows 7.
  13. To start and use tabtip.exe Microsoft Tablet PC Input Panel:
    1. Open tabtip.exe by clicking the Start button.
    2. In the search box, type tabtip.exe, and then, in the list of results, look for tabtip.exe.
    3. Right-click on the tabtip.exe file. Select Pin to Start Menu or Pin to Taskbar.
    4. Access the Tablet PC Input Panel from the Start menu, or the Taskbar. Below is an image of the Input Panel.
  14. Click on the Tools button on the top left side to see several options.
  15. The English (EN) keyboard layout should be selected automatically. Click on the EN button to switch the keyboard layout between English and Russian.
  16. When you are ready to take a test, first make sure you close all running programs on your computer.
  17. Next, launch the Tablet PC Input Panel.
