Losenko, A. P. "Andrew the First Named". 1760s

Notes: Andrew the First Named Losenko's "Andrew the First Named" seems to owe a particular debt to the religious nudes of the French painters Claude Vignon and Simon Vouet. It is also possible that the artist was influenced by the Bolognese tradition, exemplified by Reni and Guercino, which he had encountered during his travels in Italy.
