Levitan, I. I. "Moon at Twilight". 1899

Notes: Moon at Twilight. "Moon at Twilight" is a well-known masterwork which serves as an example of Levitan's debt to French Barbizon landscapes. Indeed, the palpability of its painterly surface and the success with which it communicates the mood of twilight, recalls compositions by Charles-Fran?ois Daubigny (1817-1878).
