Malevich, K. S. "Flower Girl". 1903

Notes: Flower Girl. Though its color relationships are more strident than a French-Impressionist canvas, this early work by Kasimir Malevich is painted with a clear debt to Impressionism. Impressionism was one of several styles with which Malevich experimented, and this canvas gives little indication of its creator's aptitude for the remarkable changes in approach evidenced in his later work.
