Malevich, K. S. "Suprematism (Supremus No. 58)". 1916
Notes: Suprematism (Supremus No. 58 with Yellow and Black). This canvas by Kasimir Malevich is an important Suprematist work. In May 1915, Mikhail Matiushin (see ImageBase) was asked by Malevich to help him write an essay on his new work -- work such as the painting shown here -- work he was to refer to as characteristic of Suprematism a few months later.
