Malevich, K. S. "Three Women on the Road". 1928 - 1932

Notes: Three Women on the Road. There are problems dating some of Malevich's pictures, since he tended to return to earlier styles at later times. As recent studies have shown, he occasionally executed what we might term "an earlier Malevich" in the latter stages of his career. He probably "revisited" his more conservative past in order to escape censure during the politically dangerous 1920s and 1930s, when Stalin was waging class warfare and conducting pogroms.
