Serov, V. A. "Mara Konstantinovna Oliv, Portrait". 1895

Notes: Portrait of Mara Konstantinovna Oliv (1870-1963), Mamontova by her first marriage, Sverbeeva by the second. S.I. Mamontov was a close friend of many artists and the great patron of the famous Abramtzevo artistic community, which took its name from his country estate. The artists who belonged to his circle frequently painted portraits of him and his family. This portrait of a shy Mara Mamontov typifies Serov's ability to describe mood and personality.
