Expressing Resebmlance


  1. Russian uses the word похож, похожа, похожи to express resemblence.
  2. The person who resembles (looks like) someone else is the subject of the sentence.
  3. You use a form of похож to match the gender and number of the subject.
  4. The second person in the resemblance is in the accusative case.
    Брат похож на сестру.
  5. Recall that masculine animate nouns in the accusative take the same endings as in the genitive.
    Сестра похожа на брата.
